They have not worked out all the bugs in it yet. That's the problem with electronics like this nowadays - they ship this stuff so loaded with bugs it's not useable. They let you the consumer test their products and then they only fix the problems that impact a lot of poeple. Then you have to do firmware updates to get the bug fixes. I think the firmware upgrade was the worst thing that ever happened to conusmers. Born2Bwild Fri, Jan 2, 2015 5:23 PM MADE IN CHINA was the worst thing that ever hapenned to consumers CubanCigar Sat, Jan 10, 2015 10:04 PM The EMOTIVA is the better build of these 2 units. The MARANTZ will have more gadgets but if you're looking for sound quality EMO is the way to go. justDoIt Sun, Jan 18, 2015 7:26 AM Right on Cigar. I broke down and bought BOTH - the Marantz was loaded with gadgets as you said but the sound quailty was not there. It was loaded with BUGS.
The EMO OTOH was relatively bug-free and had a by far superior sound quality it just lacked all the features - all the gadgets. In the end I sent them both back but if I had to keep one of them I would have kept the EMO. |
