The huge hedgehog has ballooned to the size of a football and is now so fat that he can't roll up into a defensive ball - making him easy prey if released into the wild. The spiny creature tips the scales at almost 4lbs, which is about three times the size of a normal hedgehog, after hogging mealtines at the home of a well-intentioned animal rescue volunteer. The massive mammal has now been put on a strict exercise regime at the Oak and Furrows Wildlife Rescue Centre near Cricklade in Wiltshire.
